Albemarle School's Lower School provides wonderful, enriching learning opportunities for students in grades 1-5. Our Open Court Reading Program is the basis for a sound start in learning how to read and continues to provide grammar and literature throughout fifth grade. Mathematics provides hands-on learning experiences with manipulatives and creative thinking skills. Science and Social Studies are enhanced with experiments and projects to grasp the higher-level thinking skills.
Lower School students are also exposed to Art, Physical Education, Library Skills, and Computers to further enhance their classroom learning. Our teachers are committed to providing a whole education by providing a nurturing and challenging educational experience.
